Panagor 90mm: very versatile macro
See below for some images made with my EOS 5D mkII and also a few 100% crops
The most interesting vintage lenses, in my opinion, are macro and portrait lenses. This one is actually both. Compliments of the Kino precision company.
Pros:
- good to excellent optical performance in macro and closeup range
- solid build
- macro 1:1
- very little lateral CA
- no visible distorsion!
- common enough in the used marked to cost just a fraction of its AF counterparts like the Tamron 90mm
- nice bokeh, but not the best (foreground is smoother compared to background)
Cons:
- little less sharp (outside the macro range) at full aperture but sharp enough for portraits or less critical applications
- sensitive to backlight
- does have longitudinal CA (bokeh CA)
